Favorite and Least Favorite Fashion Trends of Summer 2018

Summer 2018 was a summer full of bold styles! Some of them I loved and will continue to wear throughout the winter. However, some others… not so much. Since summer has finally ended, I want to end it with one last memo of the fashion trends for summer 2018 and talk about a few favorites and least favorites!Let’s start with some favorites:

My first favorite trend from this summer was the gingham/checkers/plaid patterns (I grouped them together, because they are all pretty similar). I am obsessed with these patterns! To me, these patterns all look so high end, classy, and cute all at the same time; and I just can’t get enough of them. I believe these patterns will stay in trend even in the winter too… especially the plaid!

Another favorite summer trend has been jumpsuits (obvious, I know) and rompers. My jumpsuits and rompers are some of my most comfortable pieces I own, and they’re just really easy to throw on! Again, I definitely think the jumpsuit trend will go all year long!

My next favorite trend of this summer would be the camo pattern! I used to wear it a ton when I was younger, and then it kind of went out. When it started popping up in stores again, I was sooo happy. I am IN LOVE with camo. I love how it’s tomboy but yet still can be girly. I feel like it’s a pattern that kind of matches my personality, because I have a hidden tomboy style. Honestly, the cliche camo pants are everything, and I’m definitely stock up on camo pieces.

My last trend that I’ve loved this summer is bright colors. I’ve always been a colorful person, so I was super happy to be able to find colorful pieces I loved for summer. From solid bright red dresses to vibrant yellow tops, I’ve really loved this trend. Also, I feel like summer is the time to dress in colorful pieces that make you stand out and match the weather.

Now on to some of my least favorite summer trends:

The first one that I just wasn’t feeling this summer was the shirt underneath the tank top/dress trend. I think what really turns me off about this trend is it looks like something I wore or would have worn in 4th grade. Pretty sure I have some pictures of it hidden somewhere. I’ve definitely seen some people that can totally rock it, but it’s definitely not for me.

Another trend that’s a least favorite of mine was the super cropped tube tops with the low rise pants. I’ve seen some girls wear them and look absolutely amazing in them, but for me, I don’t feel like it’s super practical. I definitely have a food baby with them too. Plus, I’m not about ready to pay $20 for a thin strip of material.

My last trend from this summer that I wasn’t feeling (some of you might hate me for this one) was the super bright/rainbow striped pieces. I’ve seen a lot of people wear it and look amazing again, but it’s just too crazy for me. I love color, but I think this pattern has a few too many colors for me to like it. It’s very colorful 80s, and I’ve never been a huge colorful 80s person, so that might have something to do with it.

What did you guys think of this summer’s trends? Did you have some you loved? Some you hated? Let me know down below. Also please keep in mind that these are just my opinions on how these trends look on me. So please… love the trends you love!

Thanks for reading today’s post and I hope you enjoyed this little something different! Bye lovelies!
